More of God?

B31A20A1-664D-4D12-86F8-FB7EEDD792E2The year is 66 A.D. or maybe 67 A.D.  and Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, finds himself once again arrested by the Roman Empire.  But this time it is much different.  Instead of being under house arrest he finds himself in a dungeon in chains.  To be more specific in Nero’s dungeon.  Not only is Paul there but it is also believed that Peter who walked with Jesus is also there.  At this time Paul is able to write a letter to his fellow brother in Christ, a young man he raised up in the faith of their mutual Lord and Savior. This young man, Timothy, receives a letter which will be known as 2 Timothy to future generations. Yet, for Timothy this is the last correspondence he has from a man he had walked with and knew so very well.  This is the man Timothy had learned from Who Jesus is.  Paul knows his time is short and soon he will be poured out as a drink offering (4:6).  Paul asks Timothy to come to him yet at the same time realizes that Timothy may not get there in time, so his letter also conveys the concerns he has of the times and of the faith which is so dear to him and that he will die for.

If we put ourselves in the times this letter was thought to be written, we might see this as a transitional time for the believers in Christ.  Most of the other disciples have been killed for their belief.  The Roman Empire is controlled by Nero.  Under his rule the believers in Jesus suffered great persecution.  He is known as a cruel leader.  Both Paul and Peter are killed under his rule leaving only John as the  last of the original apostles.  Many believers began to wonder if Jesus would ever return and some were teaching the resurrection had already happened (2:17).  Paul also warns of others in the future who will have a form of godliness but deny it’s power and always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of truth (3:5&7).  He reminded Timothy, “ But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (3:14-15).  Paul also reminds Timothy several times to: “Hold fast the pattern of words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus” (1:13); “…be strong in grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2:1-2); and “consider what I say and may the Lord give you understanding in all things” (2:7). Paul wanted to ensure the true gospel—-stayed TRUE and that the message being taught would not go back to the old leaven (law).  He reminds Timothy of the importance of faith in Who Jesus is to secure salvation and righteousness and how this truth needed to be passed on to future generations. I believe Paul was passing the baton on to his disciple Timothy before he died.  What brought me to tears though was the realization that the church today has completely perverted Paul’s words and has done exactly what he didn’t want to happen with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  And the really sad part is that they have used his own words to do so.

So many times this book (2:20-26)  has been taught from the perspective of a believers behavior and their need to try to better themselves so they can “get more from God”, or “get to a higher level”.  Christians have lost the Way and forgotten it is Him Who brings us from glory to glory, not us.  And we already have ALL of Him in us, period.  There is no secret way of obedience to “get more Holy Spirit”. The entirety of the Holy Spirit resides in each believer as they Simply Believe.  People that believe there is a way for them to attain more of God by their behavior are simply feasting on the old leaven (1 Cor 5:8). This old leaven causes you to want to hide your mistakes and choices instead of living from the inside out (see: Grace Enables You to…. for more info).  When feasting on the old leaven you fear God and man because you don’t understand that God has already forgiven you because of His Son.  The truth is you are fully forgiven which causes you to not fear because you know, no matter what you have or haven’t done, you are beloved and fully accepted by the Holy Trinity.

In our humanity we always want or desire to make ourselves righteous. It is just such a source of pride in humanity.  I understand this because for years this is the way I had lived.  This is where God truly wants humility.  It seems so difficult not only for unbelievers but for believers in Jesus to understand this.  We need to acknowledge the facts:

According to Paul, we can only freely receive these things from Father God who made the way through His Only Son, Jesus Christ.  It is a FREE GIFT.  I submit to you the containers Paul speaks about In chapter 2:20-26 was to help Timothy realize that there are different vessels in the house of God and to make sure Timothy sees this clearly, understands this and makes sure the true gospel gets passed on to trustworthy people.  Paul talks about these containers in 1 Corinthians also.  In verse 8 of chapter 5 Paul mentions something that we must look at to understand what he was saying to Timothy:

“Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”

The old leaven is the law.  The leaven of malice and wickedness is the world and the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth is the New Covenant.

See Paul was warning Timothy that these different containers would all be present in the “Church” and to look for the honorable containers to entrust the message to.  Giving credence to those that taught the truth just as he has done.

When I better understood the history, I could better understand the wording of the letter. I began to see that this letter is not so much about what I have to do to attain more from the Lord; but much more about believing what God, through His Son Jesus, has already done for me.  I believe this letter is just reinforcing to Timothy what Paul has always taught: Jesus Christ, the Passover Lamb has already done it all for us…all we have to do is Simply Believe (Faith).

I encourage you whenever you go to read the Word of God to start at the right starting point…which is:

God Loves me

Jesus died for all of my sins

I am fully forgiven

I am righteous in Jesus

I am a new creation in Jesus

I have a free will choice to choose to believe Who God and Jesus is

The Holy Spirit (all of God) lives in me when I choose to believe

God never leaves me nor forsakes me

If we look at 2 Timothy with these eyes, we can see it is all about faith, grace and understand we can not in and of ourselves make ourselves a clean container but that through focusing on Jesus, through our belief in Who He is and ALL that He has accomplished on the Cross we are the clean or an honorable container. As believers we need to stop trying to put a new garment on an old one…it doesn’t fit-the New Covenant message of Grace is not a patch for the Old Covenant of Law— just put on the whole new garment of Grace given freely and completely to you by Jesus.  Through all scripture—ALL—-you can see the truth of Jesus.

It is time for Jesus,
not man,
to be high and lifted up
and He will draw
all men unto Himself.

So now go and read 2 Timothy with new, fresh eyes and let’s stand and make a change back to the true gospel of Jesus Christ.  We no longer want the old leaven of the law, nor the feast of malice or wickedness (the world).  What we want is the New covenant, unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.  Truth that Jesus took all your sins, it is finished, you are whole (even if you don’t look it or act like it, remember glory to glory) and you are obedient right where you are at.  A good friend said something so profound and I want to share it here.  She said, “I gave 100% of what I had at that time.”  This is how I see believers going from glory to glory now.  I can’t yet give what I don’t understand I have just yet.  But I am fully reliant on the Giver and the Giver knows my heart.

The Worst Disease to Hit Mankind

And what you can do about it…

In His Name

Over the many years of being a “Christian”, I have been “taught” how to “pray”.  I quote those words because I think they have been misused or misunderstood.  At first I was taught by the Holy Spirit; but the longer I was around people who had been in the church longer than me I began to pick up some of their habits. Then it was expected I should pray in a certain way and take classes to learn how to pray.

A vending machine
has no will,
money is put in,
a button is pushed,
and what the person pushing
the button wants comes out

Today though, I want to discuss the practice of what may have become more like a formula many Christians use to put emphasis on their prayers. One of the things the Lord had shown me during those three days almost three years ago, was a vending machine. When He showed me this He spoke,”I am not a vending machine but people have made me into a vending machine“.  See a vending machine has no will, money is put in, a button is pushed, and what the person pushing the button wants comes out. We, as Christians, may have started at a wrong starting point with our view of God. We unknowingly may think God has no will in circumstances of life and yet, His plan comes above everything else. I can only discern what I believe to be God’s will as each circumstance comes to me through this lifetime.  His Holy Spirit inside me tells me and gives me unction to pray instead of praying a prayer as someone (man) desires me to…but wait I am getting ahead of myself.

Let me try to explain. The scripture that I want to use is in Acts 3:16. This is where the apostles are headed to the temple and there is a man who is sitting at the Beautiful Gate begging for money because he has been crippled since birth and the apostles say they do not have money but what they do have….here let’s enter in:

“Kefa said, “I don’t have silver, and I don’t have gold, but what I do have I give to you: in the name of the Messiah, Yeshua of Natzeret, walk!” And taking hold of him by his right hand, Kefa pulled him up. Instantly his feet and ankles became strong; so that he sprang up, stood a moment, and began walking. Then he entered the Temple court with them, walking and leaping and praising God!
‭‭Acts of Emissaries of Yeshua (Act)‬ ‭3:6-8 CJB‬

In His Name…..I have ended many prayers this way.  Many times knowing or sensing what I had just prayed wasn’t what God wanted me to pray.  Yet, the expectation was for me to pray this way because if I didn’t then God wouldn’t be seen as good and/or I IMG_1656would not be praying correctly according to man.  Let me make this very clear: God is good all the time despite the circumstances I am in.  Yet, in the past, I felt I needed to pray a way directed by man rather than God.  For this I have been convinced I was wrong and have gone back to my childlike trust in God and what His will is in each circumstance.  See we apply an attribute to God and then make it a blanket statement not realizing that it might mean something far greater than what we see it as.  Let me use this as an example.  God hates sickness. Yes, God holds no account to sickness.  It is not part of His realm.  But I want you to think of the worst sickness or disease to ever hit mankind.  Maybe it could be the plague, AIDS, cancer or….there are many to choose from.  To me though the worst sickness or disease is actually the original fall.  This is a disease that has attacked every single human being in the world.  Our brokenness is what has brought so much strife, division, hatred, and evil acts perpetrated on other humans and the earth. This sickness/disease we are all born with.  Jesus carried this for us at the Cross.  He made a way to rid humanity of this awful disease.  This sickness that 65893174-28F6-48F3-811B-339FC93F8B10has caused so many sicknesses. And with that He also took the shame of all of us who have performed these acts.  I want the world to see the largeness of what God actually did through His Son on the Cross.  We get caught up in the smaller picture and with that fear creeps in.  What if I die?  Well….we shall all die and as Christians we should not fear this or the second death.  Because truly we live forever.  We should not be like the Goyim (the unbelievers).

So, back to prayer.  Here is the definition of the Greek word for “name” from

3686 ónoma – name; (figuratively) the manifestation or revelation of someone’s character, i.e. as distinguishing them from all others. Thus “praying in the name of Christ” means to pray as directed (authorized) by Him, bringing revelation that flows out of being in His presence. “Praying in Jesus’ name” therefore is not a “religious formula” just to end prayers (or get what we want)!

[“According to Hebrew notions, a name is inseparable from the person to whom it belongs, i.e. it is something of his essence. Therefore, in the case of the God, it is specially sacred” (Souter).]

Praying “in His Name” means we receive revelation from Him as to what to pray.  It is not simply to tag this on in hopes you are praying what He desires.  It actually means you are praying as directed by the Holy Spirit in that instance. As stated above, Hebrews understand that the name is part of the person….the essence of that person and is inseparable from the person.  A name is very important to Hebrews.  As it should be for all of us.  As believers in Christ, we have His essence known as the Holy Spirit residing within us.  Inside of us we know, otherwise called discernment, what, where and when to pray.  We have the mind of Christ, His essence, in us.  We pray in His Name as we call out His will in this earth realm as it lines up with His larger picture, not yours.  His larger picture, as I have read in scripture, is that the world may know His Name.  He simply does not want one person, human, to be separated from Him.  As we pray, this is the larger picture. In the above historical story of the man being healed at the Beautiful Gate, God’s larger picture evolves.  This isn’t saying God didn’t want this man healed but there was a larger picture. Let’s finish the story here:

Everyone saw him walking and praising God. They recognized him as the same man who had formerly sat begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple, and they were utterly amazed and confounded at what had happened to him. While he clung to Kefa and Yochanan, all the people came running in astonishment toward them in Shlomo’s Colonnade. Seeing this, Kefa addressed the people: “Men of Isra’el! Why are you amazed at this? Or why do you stare at us as if we had made this man walk through some power or godliness of our own? The God of Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya‘akov, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Yeshua — the same Yeshua you handed over and disowned before Pilate, even after he had decided to release him. You denied the holy and innocent one, and instead asked for the reprieve of a murderer! You killed the author of life! “But God has raised him from the dead! Of this we are witnesses.” “And it is through putting trust in his name that his name has given strength to this man whom you see and know. Yes, it is the trust that comes through Yeshua which has given him this perfect healing in the presence of you all.” Acts of Emissaries of Yeshua (Act)‬ ‭3:9-16CJB‬

God glorified His Servant Yeshua.  Simply making it known Who He is.  Trust in His essence, His Name.  Trust in Who He is that gave strength and perfect healing to this man in their presence.  We have always focused on the healing but not so much about the people present. Peter was very straightforward telling these Jews the very same man with the name Yeshua, Jesus, this man who You disowned and denied as holy and innocent is the very same One Whose essence in them brought healing to this man whom had been crippled since birth.  This was just what was needed at this point, in these people’s lives to make Him known to them.  Each situation is different because each person is different.  God knows us perfectly and knows what needs to be done in each situation.  We are simply to trust (faith) Him with the outcomes.  Fully knowing the worst disease to ever hit mankind has been abolished by the King of kings on the Cross.  In His Name, ❤️

It All Begins and Ends With Trust

I have been studying blessings and curses and how it pertains to what Jesus did for us.  I have been also studying the armor of God that Paul talks about in Ephesians.  God will tell us things so that we pray, so that we stand.  I think the standing we have learned vs the way the early believers stood are different.  I believe this is because the early believers knew it was a fight for faith or trust above anything else-remember Paul firmly stated to Timothy, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (‭‭2 Timothy (2 Ti)‬ 4:7) and also, “Fight the good fight of the faith, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you testified so well to your faith before many witnesses.” (1 Timothy 6:12).

Faith meaning to believe, trust, cling to. Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).  In Romans 14:23 Paul states, “But the doubter comes under condemnation if he eats, because his action is not based on trust. And anything not based on trust is a sin.”.  Now, no worries here because Paul talks more about faith or trust here in Romans 12:6 “But we have gifts that differ and which are meant to be used according to the grace that has been given to us. If your gift is prophecy, use it to the extent of your trust;”. And remember Jesus said, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed which a man takes and sows in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it grows up it is larger than any garden plant and becomes a tree, so that the birds flying about come and nest in its branches.”” Mattityahu (Mat)‬ ‭13:31-32‬ ‭CJB‬‬. Also Paul stated, “For you have been delivered by grace through trusting, and even this is not your accomplishment but God’s gift.” ‭‭Ephesians (Eph)‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭CJB‬‬. So, we start off with a mustard seed and God grows our faith which is a gift of God.

Some may have more trust in one area and another more trust in a different area….that is why Paul said, “or, to put it another way, so that by my being with you, we might, through the faith we share, encourage one another.”  The common faith, trust or belief in Who Jesus is and what He accomplished for us we have as believers when we come together we are able to encourage one another as God grows our faith in who we are in Him through our life circumstances.

I refuse to make the enemy bigger than God (read Why Seek Something Inferior??? (Charlie Game) or God Is Bigger Than The Boogeyman?) or believe that God doesn’t know the circumstances that are going on in my life (read God’s Big Plan).  Faith or trust in Who God is and all of what Jesus Christ did for us in His death and resurrection is exactly what the enemy wants us not to trust or believe in.  We tend to think it is about the circumstances when truly the enemy is trying to bring doubt to our belief or trust in ALL that Jesus did and how the Father loves us.  img_1365This is truly the enemy’s tactic.  The enemy wants to steal, kill and destroy your trust.  That is what he is roaming about to do.  Yet God brought eternal life through His Son which we receive through trust. So with this foundation in the next post I will get into either the armor of God or blessings and curses…..stay tuned. 😊 This is exciting stuff!

Be Ye Holy As I Am Holy

This is the scripture that came to mind the other morning as I woke up and God, my heavenly Father, and I had a conversation.  He was reminding me how scared I used to be when someone would preach this scripture or how I used to read it and because my image of God was off I started at the wrong starting point.  What I used to imagine was God up there in heaven with a menacing face pointing His big finger at me saying in a condescending voice, “You be Holy as I am Holy!”.  Ahhhhhhhhh…I wanted to run and hide under a rock. No wonder people, both believers and non-believers, don’t want to have a conversation with Him. which of course makes the enemy so happy.

So many times I have had or heard teachers, preachers, etc… try and give you the 5 steps to a good prayer life, 10 steps to have relationship with God, 3 steps to “getting it right with God”; instead of simply going for the root of the reason why people don’t want to communicate with Him. Maybe what has been taught for too many years, since the Roman Empire made Christianity the official religion, is WRONG.  Hmmmmm……maybe the lack of the true gospel message of the New Covenant is the root of why people don’t want to have conversations with God. Maybe this false teaching needs to be rooted out and the truth declared and then people will long for, desire intimacy with the One Whom loves them so much. The problem is they have painted God out to be that figure I was describing above who we need to cower from rather than run to. And that is exactly NOT who He is.

There seems to be a real difficulty for humanity to combine justice, righteousness and holiness with GRACE, Love and Mercy. Yet, that is God. We hear it over and over again throughout His Word. So how can a Holy and Just God just let you off the hook for what you have done wrong? How can a Holy and Just God even look at you? How can a Holy God ask you to be holy—when you know for sure you can NEVER measure up? The answer is God can’t. He can’t just let you off the hook, He can’t just look at you, and you know you can never be holy in and of your own ability. Although I have tried whole heartedly to be holy. I tried so hard to do everything right, to say the right things all the time….yet I constantly fell short. It was NEVER ENOUGH to live up to the standards God had placed as the law. What I didn’t know for the longest time was that God NEVER expected me to live up to that high mark. He knew I was incapable of doing so. What I did find out later is that in the New Covenant: because of what Jesus Christ had done for us on the Cross, because Jesus became sin for us, because Jesus took our punishment, because Jesus took our sickness and shame upon Himself, and because Jesus FULLY took our place we, who have faith in Who Jesus Christ is, are now let off the proverbial hook: we are fully forgiven and the payment for our sin is marked:”PAID IN FULL”, God desires to look upon His beloved (us) and we are holy. Simply put we are Holy because He is Holy. The Holy One, Jesus, took our place. That which knew no sin became sin for us and now we are holy and righteous. It causes, in me, a great thankfulness that rises up out of myself for what He did for me. It is not forced or manufactured…it simply is there as I mediate on the HUGENESS of what He did for me.

If you are doing what I used to do, trying to self create your own holiness by trying to do everything right, please stop. Look at the scripture:

“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:13-16‬ ‭NASB‬‬

It is simple…I shall be holy for God is holy. I fix my hope completely in the grace that has been brought to me as Jesus was revealed for Who He is in my life. So I rest in the hope of grace and trust that He will take me from glory to glory changing me from the inside out. Stubborn children try to do it on their own; yet obedient children trust that what you are doing is for them. They trust and grab ahold of the hand that is bigger than theirs and know that good comes out of all situations.

img_1052I am made holy only because of what Christ did for me-that is freeing, makes me feel fully loved, fully cared for and fully safe. This creates the desire to communicate and have relationship with the One who adores you. This presents the right starting point for everyone to want to talk to their Heavenly Father. There is no need for multiple steps…only this: God is for you, wants you and dearly loves you…so much so He gave His only Son to take your place so you could be His for all eternity-holy and righteous. Amazing Love.

God Is Bigger Than The Boogeyman?

Of course we should all answer a resounding, YES! This is like a no-brainier for most/all Christians. Yet, I have talked about how our real beliefs, our core values are played out in our actions not by our words in my blog posts- We Stand In the New CovenantDon’t Touch God’s Annointed, and Core values and Grace. Too many times we say we believe something and our actions show otherwise. The core value about whether or not we really, truly believe Jesus conquered the enemy is played out in our lives, our actions. Here let me give you a real life example: my family and I were at a grocery store (and this isn’t the first time this has happened, nor do I doubt it will be the last time) and a woman that attended the church that I talk about in Ummmm…Is That An Elephant in the Room?!?!? and People Don’t Like Letting the Elephant Out, Questions Answered was there also. My son ran into her and she at least said hi this time, my son didn’t give her an option as he stood right in front of her and said hi first, (yes there have been people who have looked my boys in their face and turned their heel without a word and walked away from them even after knowing them for years) but the level of anxiety was so high, the level of fear was so high for her that when she got to her car we watched her as she went to put her shopping cart away when all of a sudden she saw all of us, did a circle in the parking lot with her cart, came back to her car, and left her basket by her car door, then quickly jumped in her car. Now many of you may be thinking oh, okay…and….????

But the reality is this hasn’t been the first time we experienced this same reaction from others from this same church. I want to make it clear that this is sad…but truly we have learned to laugh at it. Not to be callous; but because we see it for what it really is and laughter is good medicine. While some of the people, who called us friends at one time during our nine years at this church, we have not yet seen in public, but they have dropped us as friends and all connections have ceased. At first I tried reaching out to a few and those simply never replied back. So you just stop trying. But what I want to get to here is a belief system that led to this behavior in the first place. It has been taught and instilled in many of the people from this church and possibly others have experienced the same treatment at the hands of a church leadership. In my case the church leadership needed to shut me up, you would have to ask them specifically why because I don’t truly know exactly why…I only have ideas of why. So they used fear as their tactic and led them to talk about me, to keep people away from me, by saying I am “filled with demons” and if they come close to me or my family, have relationship with us or are even our Facebook friends these demons will jump on them, create more demonic warfare for them, the demons will attack their children, they will soon fall away from God and so on.

The belief that the enemy is bigger is acted out; yet with their own words they say “God is bigger”. Remember in my previous posts I have shown that people learn more quickly by actions not words. This false belief system within the Christian community needs to stop. Now before I make the following statement I want you to clearly hear wisdom needs to be listened to. God gave us wisdom and the Holy Spirit. Let me give an example: you are a woman like me and you think it is okay to walk down a dark alley by yourself at night….ummm wisdom says not smart. So use wisdom when going places, reading things, etc. But know this, reading a particular book, going to a certain movie, going in a certain coffee shop will not make you lose your salvation. See God is bigger than all that. Now wisdom, Holy Spirit, will tell you hey this book, movie etc isn’t one that may help you, but it could be okay for another person and about coffee shops I can’t drink the coffee at a certain one because it hurts my stomach…it’s the bean they use. Does that mean I can’t go…no I just pick something else if that place is my only option. 😉 Yet I have found a pervasive belief in some Christian circles that somehow if you go somewhere you are spiritually dirty, or heaven forbid someone touch you that the “pastors” consider “spiritually dirty” because then you will be “tormented all night” or possibly become “infected” etc…..needs to be seen for what it really is-Controlling a group of people with FEAR.

This false belief system causes Christians to fear going places, seeing people, touching people-who probably need a touch and has brought divisiveness within friendships and sadly families too. There should be no reason anyone from that church should be afraid to talk to me or my family nor the friends that left for their own reasons…many because they were not willing to be scared into not talking to me. I know this sounds crazy. And if I hadn’t lived it, it would be hard to believe. Yet, it has and is still going on today.

But, I desire to get to the root of this wrong belief system, pull it up and out and replace it with the truth. We can say God is bigger than the boogeyman; but do we really believe it. For a long time I lived in the fear I was describing above. Fear to go places, touch some people, or let them touch me. If they did touch me then I had to spiritually “wash off”. What bondage to fear. I am so grateful for GRACE and God’s revelation to me.

You need to understand, I have dealt with the demonic and it probably would have been better if I hadn’t read books or listened to others teach me how to help people get free from the demonic. I didn’t fear helping people get free from demonic influence. There were many times I was called to help in situations or would simply be at the right place at the right time to help someone. Yet, this false belief system began to make me question just how big God is. And that became a problem. I found once this fear had a place in my belief system, that is when I myself gave wiggle room for the enemy to bug me more or harass me. Since my belief system has been set right, there is simply zero tolerance now when it comes to the demonic. So what changed for me and what needs to change for Christians like me?? It is simple-start at the right starting point–belief of Who Christ is, who you are in Him and Whose you are.

Here is what changed: I believe that Jesus Christ died for me, He paid the price for all of my sin for all time, and I am beloved by Him and His Father. I am the daughter of the Most High God, not because of anything I did but ONLY because of what Christ did for me, that I could never do. Starting there at the right starting point will easily flow right into the fact the enemy has lost, he has no right in me or around me, anything he tries to whisper and accuse me of I say back the truth – I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:22, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Philippians 1:11 & 3:9, Galatians 2:21). I never stand in my own goodness or badness–I only stand in Christ. I know who I am and Whose I am to the very core of me. In wisdom, anywhere I go with Him I am covered, protected and loved. I can touch everyone, have relationship, and talk to anyone and I will leave the mark of Christ’s love because He lives in and through me. I change the very atmosphere of anywhere I step my foot. See I know all this because I know of the deep cost Christ paid for me and I know Who lives in me because He choose me first and I said yes! I know God is bigger than any boogeyman. I just don’t say it…I know it to the depths of my being and I walk it out daily with Him.

I truly just want freedom for those still bound in fear. I truly want freedom for all those that are afraid to be near me. If you believe God is bigger, then even if I was filled with demons you should have no problem being near me. And if, if you truly love me and you say you are a Christian and you truly believe I have demons in me than you should be the first one in line to help me. This is exactly what one of my friends said to this line of thinking when it was presented to her to “let go” of our friendship. She said if this is true about her, when I leave work today I am going over to her house and that demon is going to be gone. See right there is the truth. Right there is the knowledge, the core value that God is bigger than anything. The ability of knowing who you are in Christ and Whose you are walked out in your actions.  What are your actions saying about your beliefs?

“Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; be wary and wise as serpents, and be innocent (harmless, guileless, and without falsity) as doves. [Gen. 3:1.]” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭AMP

‘Fake It Til I Make It’ OR…..

Is There Something (Someone) Better?

I just want to address something that I have been caught up in for years, as a Christian. I want to bring freedom to an area that I have so struggled with for at least the last ten years. I have either been taught by either watching other Christians behavior or leaders out rightly telling me that I needed to, “Fake it till I make it.”.  This felt very wrong to me.  Yet, I was explained that I must “call things that are not as though they are”. (Romans 4:17)  I don’t know about you but I certainly would not like to go to a doctor who was trying to fake it until he makes it…..

I have written a few blogs which I now realize led me to my freedom this morning. It may help if you read these first:

Since this was first told to me, “Fake it till you make it”.  I have had a sense that this is wrong….hint, hint…Holy Spirit Helper, trying to help me. It wasn’t until last night, as I sat at my boys basketball game, when something happened to my oldest son that got me very angry and the ref didn’t see it. I was over the top angry. Later that night when all was quit in the house I was talking to God…one of my favorite times from childhood. As I spoke to Him He first reminded me with such love and compassion, “Remember Darlene, if there is an area you are angry about with Me, you are not trusting Me.” Now I have learned over the last year, there is no way in and of myself that I can create that trust. I knew that God wanted to do something for me through these circumstances. I just didn’t know what. He was not expecting me to plead or bend over backwards or try to work this out for myself. He just wanted me to come to Him. He was not mad at me for not trusting Him. He actually understood me. He wanted to heal and help me.

This morning as I woke up and went about my daily morning activities (working out) the Lord began bringing some things to mind for me, connecting things for me. He reminded me I have been so sad lately of lost relationships, lost relationships for my boys and the sadness that comes with other people’s decisions that impact your life. He also reminded me of last night and how angry I had become at a situation that before would not have impacted me like that. There was a connection and He showed me.  I knew I had to be honest with myself, with God and with others. I had already shared with my husband that I was feeling sad the last few days. There was a loss in relationships, chosen by other people to cut us off. This was hurting….again. This should be over and done with but much like when a death occurs in your family there is a process of grief and it takes time and it fluctuates.  What hurts ourselves is when we try to, “Fake it till we make it.”.  In any area of our life when we try to “fake it” we have just gone into striving in our own ability by pretending (pretense=The act of pretending; a false appearance or action intended to deceive) and have denied the work of the Cross and what Christ died to gain.  “Faking it till we make it” imageis simply a lie. It is pretending on our own to be what God intends for us rather than facing/looking at who we are honestly, what is truly in our heart, and knowing we can’t fix it but God can and will. When we truly have the understanding of all that Christ died for we can much more easily look at ourselves honestly. This “faking it till you make it” is exactly what the Pharisees did. The outside of the cup looked pretty good but when you look inside it was dirty.  We end up truly only hurting ourselves with this pretense.  Because we actually start to believe we can change ourselves which is in direct oppossion to the Truth.  You only end up lying to yourself, God and others. Let me explain further…

The scripture used in Romans 4:17 has been taken out of context and made into something it isn’t. Let’s look at it in entirety:

“For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.””Romans‬ ‭4:13-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If we are honest and read this scripture in its’ fullness, we see here a description of God and Abraham. God is the One who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. Abraham, who is the father of many nations (that is you and I), contrary to hope- believed in hope according to what God had promised or spoke.

Abraham did not waver at this promise was strengthened in faith and gave glory to God for giving him that ability to be strengthened in faith.

Abraham was fully convinced that what God had promised him God was able to perform–this is where Abraham got his righteousness from-his belief that what God promised God was able to perform.

There is such a push in some circles of Chistianity for us, as believers, to call things which do not exist as though they do and I believe this is erroneous teaching as we really do not want to take one scripture that isn’t even used in its fullness and make our whole belief system out of it. Do I believe in miracles, yes. I have seen them and been a part of praying for them. In this scripture Paul was talking specifically about the birth of Isaac; as we see at the end of verse 18 through verse 19 Paul talks about the many descendents and the reality of Abraham and Sarah’s bodies. God is the creator of life and through us He creates life-babies. We need to understand this scripture and not be afraid to tell the truth. Abraham and Sarah both admitted their bodies were dead to the ability to create a child. What they proclaimed was the belief that God was Who He said He was- He strengthened their faith and He had promised to give them a son.  So God had to give life to the dead, calling what does not exist to exist. These are attributes of Who God is and what He does.   We need to start with the fact that God is infinitely wise, Whose ways and thoughts are way above mine. He desires the best for all of us.  I desire, and have proclaimed heaven on earth by closely listening to the Father. But it is His creating that is occurring, not mine. Thankfully only those proclamations that line up with His will, will only occur (He is so good); we only need to look at the Old Testament prophets to see this truth.  God is interested about our insides, our core NOT in behavior modification.  Any of us can modify our behavior for a time but only God can change us from the inside out which brings about lasting change externally.

Once again He has strengthened His daughter’s faith and healed me. Simply put I believe that God is Who He says He is. I simply believe Jesus is Who He said He is. Through me He shall do great wonders, just like with Abraham. The plus side is that I have His Holy Spirit living inside me.

So, this morning I wept for the loss, another layer. The loss in my life, my children’s lives, and my friends’ lives. I grieved with God, He healed me in my grieving. Not “faking it till I make it” but being real…living from the inside out with myself, God and others. Who wants to join me? ❤️

“The church (ALL believers in Jesus Christ) was birthed through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that realigns those that believe/trust (faith) in Who Jesus img_0758-1is, back into the lineage of Abraham’s righteousness through faith (believe/trust).”from my FB quote one year ago today

How Much Do You Trust God?

As we walk in who we truly are in Him, NOTHING can stand against what He has already purchased.

I want this statement to resound within you, within me, within everyone! I was texting with a friend and this statement came welling up within me, as we were talking about life. Jesus said He gave us peace, not as the world gives peace but as He gives. He goes on to say do not let your heart be troubled or dismayed. (John 14:27). The word Shalom is peace in Hebrew. The word shalom is so much more than just peace. Here is the list:

  • peace
  • wholeness
  • wellness
  • well being
  • safe
  • happy
  • friendly
  • favor
  • completeness
  • to cause to be at peace
  • to make peace
  • peace offering
  • secure
  • to prosper
  • to be whole
  • to be victorious
  • contentment
  • tranquility
  • quiet
  • rest

I believe so much of our history as Christians has been: if I, then God will. Or I need to do something: pray hard enough, be more introspective, make sure I don’t sin, go back through my family line and ask Jesus to take the sins of my family (reminds me of indulgences in the past which even the Catholic Church has quit doing). See our propensity, as humans, is to lean on ourselves and what we have to do to receive from God. For most people, I believe, it is truly difficult to simply receive. I am not saying don’t pray. Prayer is conversing with God and I do that all the time. I have become aware and I understand He is always with me, ALWAYS. Yet, the resting in Him may be difficult if I don’t have the deep understanding of what Jesus actually did accomplish at the Cross. When that is firmly deposited within me and I remind myself daily of that very fact it changes me on the inside. It also usurps Christian belief systems that have usurped what Jesus accomplished on the Cross.

Above was the statement: As we walk in who we truly are in Him, NOTHING can stand against what He already purchased. This is what I remind myself of daily- this means I simply am looking towards Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. As I walk in this I know there is absolutely NOTHING that can stand in what Jesus Christ did for me or for my family or for my friends. See here is where I know it is ALL about what He did and it is ALL finished. See here is where I receive the mind of Christ and NOTHING, no sickness, no sin, no curse, no condemnation, no ill spoken words, no bad news, no generational sin, no ___________ (put your own words) can stand against what He already purchased. He purchased us and then gave blessing, favor, wholeness, love, contentment, sinlessness, righteousness, prosperity. He gave us Shalom and so much more. All that is His He freely, openly, excitedly gives to us. That is automatically where we stand when we repent and see God for who He is. Simply put, all we do is believe: Jesus You are who You say you are, I believe! This very simple belief causes all to be exchanged for us in that moment. Now daily I stand in the belief and trust in Christ that nothing can stand in what He already purchased for me.  imageWhen something comes up in my life I stand proclaiming that Christ has already purchased my complete freedom, my wholeness, my Shalom- because His truth states whom the Son sets free is free indeed. The work for you and me was accomplished 2000 years ago on the rugged cross. Thank you Jesus!
